Yard Treatments

Lyme Disease is rapidly becoming our nations’s #1 Public Health disease. Densities as high as 9000 deertick Nymphs can be found in some areas of the Northeast, and they will continue to spread as long as birds fly, rodents run and man travels.

First and foremost, it must be stressed that No control program, chemical, mechanical or physical can guarantee complete elimination of deer ticks or that no one will ever get Lyme Disease. The ticks and their hosts are too mobile to make any such guarantees.

However, we at OZANE have started an Integrated Tick program where you, the homeowner, with the assistance of OZANE can greatly reduce the exposure of your family to these ticks.

Ozane Program to Reduce the Risk of Exposure

  1. Spring: Overwintered adults - Treatment
  2. Summer: Nymphs and Larvae - Treatment (Critical to Maintain Control)
  3. Fall: Adults - Treatment

Homeowner’s Part of Program

  1. Lawns should be kept mowed.
  2. Weeds and shrubs should be kept trimmed.
  3. Organic debris should be cleaned up and not allowed to accumulate.
  4. Wood piles should be moved away from the house and playing area of the lawn.
  5. Bird feeders should be moved away from the house or playing areas. These feeders also attract mice and squirrels.
  6. Homes should be inspected for possible entry point for rodents. These areas should be sealed.
  7. Inspect your family daily for ticks. Be alert for symptoms of Lyme Disease.

Each treatment will involve the spraying of a residual insecticide to bushes, shrubs, grassy fields and favorite places where Ticks are likely to infest as well as lawns.

Owner may pay for additional services at their own request.
